Our Commitment to Sustainability

We are a small business but that doesn’t mean we don’t think we can make a BIG difference!

Here at Shrubby we take as many steps as possible to make ethical and sustainable choices when sourcing our product ingredients and packaging.

Although our aim is to make luxury essential oil candles that are accessible and don’t break the bank, we believe that this shouldn’t mean cutting corners on our ethics and sustainability.

We put a significant amount of time into sourcing materials from reputable suppliers. And don’t just take our word for it - we want to share with you the information to back up these claims so read on to hear more…

Where do our Ingredients come from?

All of the essential oils that go into our candles are sourced from a reputable supplier who ensure that their products are harvested ethically and are completely cruelty free and vegan.

Our soy wax blend is also sourced from a reputable supplier, is completely natural, not tested on animals and also vegan!

Our candles all use TCR wicks which are made from pure long strand ring spun cotton and paper.

… and what about Packaging?

Not only are our candle jars heat resistant but they are fully recyclable too!

Our candle boxes are purchased from a supplier who prides themselves on sustainability, having a number of initiatives in place such as refilling their domestic consumables, and donating their end of line boxes to charities and schools for arts and craft products. All of our brown kraft candle boxes are suitable for home recyling.

Unlike a lot of packaging papers, the tissue paper we use to wrap our products is eco-friendly, being 100% circular, and can be composted or recycled after use.

Our postal boxes are sourced from a B certified and carbon neutral supplier. Furthermore, 1% of sales goes to supporting environmental charities.

Our supplier of boxes is a conservation circle partner of the Rainforest Trust UK and all of the postal boxes we source from them are produced from sustainable materials, are recyclable, biodegradable and plastic free.

And going into the finer details… our packaging tape is also recyclable, biodegradable and plastic free.
